Many of us, myself included, are so caught up in our own daily chaos of worry that it prevents us from focusing on what is good in our lives. You may worry about finances, relationships, or worry about a child that is making destructive choices in their lives. Whatever makes up your worry bead this worry can often prevent us of from seeing an opportunity to work towards Hesed even when it is right under our noses. Try this Disrupting Chaos Prayer. Commit to saying praying this prayer daily for a given amount of time. It could be a day, a week, a month. You choose. But, I can honestly say, it is working to shrink my worry bead and help me spot opportunities to work towards Hesed.

What is Hesed?
Hesed (or Chesed) is a Hebrew word and although there is no direct translation we find that the word loosely translated means "loving kindness".
I was introduced to this word in an incredibility moving and thought provoking Sunday morning service at Parkcrest Christian Church in March of 2015 as part of a series of sermons titled Stories of Old. This particular sermon was titled "Moving Beyond Enough". I was moved to tears and left feeling not only was I not doing enough but, basically, I was doing nothing at all.
On that day, the my personal Hesed Movement was born but today is the day I decide to share my journey towards Hesed.
